are only one week away from the biggest F.R.E.E. fundraiser of the year
-- "Chipping Fore Charities," which will take place
on September 9th at the Fort Collins Country Club. All of our
F.R.E.E. supporters still have time to help out. Even if you are not a
golfer, you can still help by donating money to the Tournament's
"Golf Ball Drop" contest. Simply put, you can purchase a golf
ball for $10 or 5 golf balls for $45. In return, you are entered in a
contest where a helicopter will fly over the golf course and drop the
golf balls people have purchased. The balls that land closest to the
target on the golf course will win a 55 inch LED TV or a cash prize
(there will be three winners)!!
Please consider contributing $10. We have over 500 supporters of
F.R.E.E. and if everyone contributes, we can raise $5,000 in just golf
ball purchases! If interested, you can mail a check to Jan Goldstein,
F.R.E.E. Board President:
1112 Hawkeye Street
Fort Collins, CO. 80525
Remember, you can also help by golfing, sponsoring a hole, or
contributing merchandise to our silent auction. If you have questions
or need further information, contact Jan. This tournament has already
raised over $21,000 for F.R.E.E. over the last 3 years!
Thank you for your continued support!
Did you know?
As you may or may not be aware, our program is
a Premier Accredited Center through P.A.T.H. International.
Every five years we go through a renewal process to keep this status.
This renewal was on August 12th. Overall the accreditation went
well. There area a couple of areas for improvement, but the site
visitors were very impressed with our operations. The initial results
indicate a passing score, but we won't have an official score for a
couple of months. Everyone involved before the visit was very helpful
and the help is greatly appreciated! Thank you to everyone for keeping
this program up to par and making it safe for everyone!
families! Did you know 75% of riders utilize the scholarship
program but only 25% of families volunteer with FREE? FREE would
like all families to help make FREE a successful program. If you
find you are short on time but want to help, how about networking with
someone you know who may serve on your behalf? Recently a family
wanted to help with the Larimer County Fair Horse Show, but when she
couldn't get there she found that her mom wanted to help on her behalf!
Her mother donated and brought all the fruit and water for the morning
and afternoon for volunteers and riders! Another family knew a cousin
that has horse experience and wanted to help at the barn with horse
care. If you are able to refer a family or friend who can help, please
call Cheryl Sutherland (225-8158) and she will put them in touch with
the right person who coordinates in an area of their interest!
And thank you to all the families who already help, you know who you
